Where's my kid?
recent news and the recovery of the child who got lost in a shopping complex shooked the whole country for about several days. Notices asking for the child to be returned were everywhere. On the 15/4, the child was found. "Missing boy reunited with family after two weeks" Lucky? Definitely.
When shopping with your kids, what do you do to safeguard them? Is it still safe for your children to be left at playground while you go shopping? Let us discuss. Why I won't use FREE WIFI? My Blog | My TechNotes |

RE: Where's my kid?
at giant few years back when my son ( @ 5 yrs ) was lost for a while , it was our fault as i was browsing around the cd section and my wife was doing the grocery , she called me to ask whether our son was with me , then i knew as he was lost . luckily my son was brave enough to go to the announcement counter to report himself..
yes , our fault as parent for not being attentive to the children's safety at the shopping complexes . |

RE: Where's my kid?
thanks for sharing your experience. losing a child in crowded places is no joke. anything can happen. lucky for you your son knows how to go to announcement counter. i think the first thing i do in a shopping complex is to teach my kid who/where to go to when they faces problem... (touch wood, ya)

RE: Where's my kid?
well from that momment we always have more vigilant...feel happy that can be a help to others too....the first thing to do is to show our children , where to go when they get lost , not only at shopping complexes but at other venues too ..e.g big expos..or circus.

RE: Where's my kid?
There's another thing about missing child. If you come across a missing child, it is good to just stay with the child till their parents came. I do feel that if you pandai-pandai bring the child and look for their parents or make a report, it is more difficult for the parents to look for them as usually parents will hunt at the 'last seen' or 'last went' location. Unless after fruitless of waiting and there is no show, then only you bring the child to lodge a report.

RE: Where's my kid?
well i guess although parents should not be blame for their child-loss, but at least they must have the initiative to ensure their child are under their watchful eyes or those of a reliable guardian on the 1st place....
for instance the housing area where i stayed, the kids of any age, were always left to play by themselves on the roads, playgrounds and god knows where else on a daily basis from 4/5pm to 7pm..... have nvr heard of cases of kids being napped but there's been countless cases of near-miss of cars hitting kids who's lay by the road, riding a bike on the middle of the streets and so forth... was listening to 988 fm on monday morning.....there are suggestions that police should play a part in the situation by....taking any kid(s) below 10 that they see left alone on the streets back to the station till the parents come and claim them.... is this how we should make use of the police force? to be part-time day care for irresponsible parents? |

RE: Where's my kid?
there is a tool...whereby it rings when the kid go further than 5ft, i have them from exhibition...i think I got like 3.....but not sure where we could buy them in Malaysia.
I think lossing kid is normal as long as it is not kidnapped by others....because you are busy buying stuff...esp sale...there is too many people.....then kids don't stand still in one place....one way is to teach them where to the annoucement counter and teach them not to follow stranger Malaysia Classifieds | Funky Junk | Malaysian Food |
