Procedure for opening new account with CIMB bank for foreigners

Hi all
Can anyone please tell me what is the procedure to open a new account with CIMB bank for foreigners? How much should be the initial deposit amount ? What should be submitted while opening an account and all that ? Can u please help me?

it is a little tough for foreigner to open a bank account....because they require you to tell them the source of income...unless u got a job or a company

you will just need your passport to open an account

Hi blossom83. I assume you want to open a savings account.

Here's some procedure to open a saving accounts :

Eligibility

Individuals aged 18 years and above who are either residents or non-residents.
Societies, clubs and associations.
Joint account is allowed.

Features

Passbook will be issued with or without ATM card.
Statement-based with ATM card.
Monthly statement on every 15th of the month for account with more than 20 transactions. Otherwise, quarterly posting of statement.

Requirements

Minimum initial deposit of RM250.
NRIC or passport.
A copy of utility bill for verification of address.

So basically you can just bring your passport as prove of your identity, a cash of RM250.00 and yourself to any CIMB branches. You can call them at phone no. 1 300 880 900 for more infos.
