but klang is too small..
most of the chinese here today are Taoisme which we already mix up with buddhism..
well..one of the fast growing population of religion is Christian..
they spread alots and many joined them..
any idea what buddhism will do to gain back?

Many thanks for your comment and queries, Anyon. We don't have any official statistic or figures on your concern. The SGI ND Buddhism is the Buddhism for the people of this period of time and many many people all over the world are practising it and had received actual proof. SGM Klang Branch Cultural Centre has hosted many cultural, educational and peace activities to promote our philosophy of life. We will keep on hosting such activities and will post our activities in this forum or may you suggest a better forum and we welcome you and your friends to participate in our activities and learn more about our organisation. Orcablue, the centre of Buddhism is neither Klang or Thailand, it's the 'Heart'. And howy_lee, i believe our brother rafatan here is not promoting activity or religion, he's promoting 'Wisdom'.........

Howy_lee, Buddhism is all about Wisdom and Compasion so what our brother rafatan is doing here can be consider as 'path to wisdom'. The teaching of Buddha is to eliminate Ignorance, Greed and Hatred in a person thus attaining Nirvana to become a Buddhahood or 'No More Reincarnation'.

Gautama Buddha saw the suffering of humans, so he tried to find a way to end our sufferings. His teaching of the 4 Noble Truth, The Noble 8 Fold Paths, The Great Compassion and many more are path to attaining enlightenment.

Nowadays in the modern world, there are many Sect and School that spread his teaching. Soka Gakkai Malaysia is one of those Sect/School that teaches Buddhism. Like our young Anyon said, in Klang many ppl practices the teaching of Taoism plus Buddhism, which i am not surprised at all.

Let me explain, when i was in Singapore(i study and work thr), i came upon the chance to study Buddhism. When i came back to Malaysia, i find it hard to look for some real readings of Buddhism esp in Klang. I tried to look for books or Sutras about Buddha teachings at Temples, Bookstores or Libraries but the stock are limited, i don't know why.

Then i realize, Malaysia with multi-cultural heritage and our Ancestors are part of the reason why ppl are mixing Taoism and Buddhism together. Our ancestor came from China and who are they~? Yes, a big part of them are missionaries seeking 'a better future' hence they comes to Malaysia. They migrate to Malaysia in order to seek a better living. Many of them are expert in certain field, ie Mining, Sailing, Carpentry etc, etc. But not many of them are expert in religion.

We are taught by only what they knows, some cultural believes and certain Story/Tales that they remembered thus the born of Malaysia Taoism. During that time, they would spread their believe from generation to generations till now. During the seventies(1970's) and eighties(1980's), Malaysia was shown many Hong Kong Television Programs which saw the episode of Buddha fighting evils, Buddha Great Compassion, Buddha Enlightenment etc, etc. One of them is the story of the Monkey God(Semokong) and Tong Sam Chong(the silk road). Another one is 'Fong San Pong' with Nacha, Hong Nga Yee, The Bull God, The Dragon God etc, etc. These TV shows/programs normally end in those Gods found the True Path to Buddhism hence attaining Enlightenment.

We, watched all those TV program and contemplated the Supremacy of Buddha. From then on, i realize there is a change in our Traditional Believes and Praying Rituals. Old traditional praying rituals are mix with certain teaching of Buddhism. I believed, all this happened is because we want to have the best during our prayers, that's all. This 'MIX' ritual praying snow balled to become what our brother Anyon has describe, a Taoism plus Buddhism culture.

Anyway, like what ppl always said, 'Something is always better than Nothing'. I saw some of this 'MIX' praying rituals believer has a chance to touch Buddhism. Some of them actually found this realization and is now practicing the True Buddha Teachings. Sect/School like ABC(Amithabha Buddhist Center) or Soka Gakkai Malaysia provides these Buddha Teachings therefore, they are actually imparting WISDOM of Buddha Teachings to those who need it.

So howy_lee, our brother rafatan is actually promoting Wisdom here but i'll still give you a high five because you dare to ask and for those who ask, they will get........
