RE: Lotus F1 2010
New team logo :
![]() Lotus F1 Racing revealed its new team logo today, retaining the famous green/yellow colours of the legendary Lotus marque - but at the same time providing the F1 team a completely new identity. In a press conference held at Malaysia today, where Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen were confirmed as the team's 2010 drivers, team principal Tony Fernandes explained the choices made with the new logo. "We have thought long and hard about our team brand and logo, and I am very pleased with the end result," Fernandes stated. "F1 aficionados will immediately recognise the classic green and yellow colour of Lotus, but we have given it a modern twist which is essentially what this team is about. "We are not pretending to be the Lotus of the past, but we are honoured to be able to bring the name back into Formula 1 at the start of a new decade of racing. We will draw on its heritage and use it to inspire and motivate our team, Lotus F1 Racing. "I hope everybody likes the logo and enjoys a small glimpse into the livery of our race cars for our first season." RE: Lotus F1 2010
Tony and both drivers had sets realistic targets, which is the best of new teams, and by the time they go to Abu Dhabi, they wants to be in the top ten. Which is possible, based on Mike Gascoyne's historical ability to develop the car with Jordan, Renault and Force India before.

Lotus successfully fired-up their Cosworth engine.
"Lotus have fired up the engine of their new F1 car for the first time. The Cosworth V8 was successfully started at Lotus Racing in Hingham, Norfolk, on Saturday after some minor technical delays. The team's technical director Mike Gascoyne told BBC Radio Norfolk there was still plenty of work to do. "We'll be shaking the car down on Tuesday, just getting this fire-up is one thing, there's still a lot of parts to go on there," he said." source : BBC Sport - F1 |

RE: Lotus F1 2010
The car!
![]() "The first Lotus Formula 1 car for 15 years hit the race track on Tuesday as Fairuz Fauzy completed a secret shakedown for the team's 2010 challenger at Silverstone. As AUTOSPORT's exclusive spy shot of the new car shows, the so-far unnamed machine was running in the historic green and yellow colours that were so synonymous with Lotus in the 1950s and 1960s. It is not clear, however, whether the team will keep these colours for the season or they have just been used for the initial run. The successful shakedown of the car marked an emotional moment for the Lotus team, which was only granted an entry for the 2010 season back in September. Having undertaken the first engine fire-up of the car on Saturday, the team travelled to Silverstone to get some mileage on it before its official launch in London on Friday. Team principal Tony Fernandes admitted that the first run with the new car had meant a lot to him. "Shakedown started. Quite a few tears," he wrote on his official Twitter feed. Lotus is scheduled to begin proper testing of the car at next week's third pre-season F1 test at Jerez in Spain." |

RE: Lotus F1 2010
Well remember that this team started from scratch 3 months ago and those bits needed to make this car fast will surely come later, but hopefully in time for the first test next week.
