RE: Laptop Recommendation
When I mean license in this context, it's not about checking.
If u buy overseas, they don't load up the pc for you free. So, u got to go there prepare with the necessary software. ![]() As far as OS is concern... serious, go for Linux, it can detect every single equipment without fail. Recently, a friend of mine setup a thumbdrive linux... when it is plug on to my laptop, it detect every single thing and will run like an external harddrive. So, should go Linux if u know how to use it. Which country are u going anyway? Slovenia? |

RE: Laptop Recommendation
I think u can boot Windows XP from external hardrive. But u need to configure first lar. I have not seen one, but heard that it can be done.
What I am talking about is ur normal 4GB thumbdrive. Imagine, carrying just a thumbdrive but u can access any pc, or laptop by just plugging into it and rebooting it. In fact, under Linux, it can virtually detect every single components and make it work. By the way, if u op for a laptop without OS, yes... u will have to install the OS urself. |

Got it huh? if you are a hacker, would you create a virus to attack a paid for OS or a free for all OS? I would not waste my time to attack free for all OS, if he does that hacker might be retarded...... Got it huh??

RE: Laptop Recommendation
I think what Chris try to mean was that should someone one to hack into your pc, whether it's Linux or Win, it is still not fool proof.
Again, when it comes to viruses, of course Win's system are more suspectible. No argument on that. So Chris, have u found ur below 1kg laptop yet? |

RE: Laptop Recommendation
Since when I said I want a Laptop below 1KG?
A laptop under 1KG serious underweight man... and I won't prefer to have that kind of laptop. Because with such low weight I don't think the spec. will be very good... (even is very good but still it will cost a lot) Yeah I got my labtop from Dell already. Dell XPS M1530. Not bad system. Now using to reply this post. Althought the spec. is not those cutting edge technology, but I think this is more than essential for current PC usage. ...... I thought an external hardisk can function exactly same like an internal hardisk? No different for external hardisk, internal hardisk, or some hardrive (pendrive)... In that case, an OS can be bootable from those device. As I am concern, only the file system is a bit different. Hardrive might give you a NTFS system but pendrive might only be FAT system. |
