I know Asus Eepc is very light and small... but it's a basic unit (very very basic unit).

RE: Laptop Recommendation
I guess it is impossible to get Fujitsu or Sony with only RM2k.....

RE: Laptop Recommendation
so light? fujitsu and sony that light at 15inch screen is atleast 6k.... u sure bo?> macbook air also 5k liao... other wise get the note top.. thos small screen ones 10" like that...asus eec, acer one, or hp mini. less than 2k... suggest go for the HP but maybe slow bit..but atleast u get near full keyboard size. the acer one use Linux..batt 6 hours..not bad la..but rekemen wait for newer chips to come out and stabilize. only asus got wider range for the notetop

zero tolerance with a little allowance

RE: Laptop Recommendation
I think u can call up to Dell Hotline and talk to the sales rep. Somethings, they charge differently for International Warranty.

RE: Laptop Recommendation
If Dell does charge differently then I rather send my Laptop back than to pay the charges right?

RE: Laptop Recommendation
Let's just say this... you are in overseas with your faithful laptop and its spoil. By sending back to Msia... it will take longer than the normal time to fix it. If you are in overseas, u can get it fix there. Price different, I believe there will be a service charge to the local currency. Check with DELL on what is claimable and what's not. No point speculating right.

But still, if you are going to be overseas and have the budget, why not get it in overseas in the first place? But then again, M'sia laptop price can be cheaper. Check the website of the country that you will be visiting. Compare the prices.

One more thing, buying in overseas means that u need "LICENSE" software. Buying locally, sometimes u can have just the laptop without the OS (like a friend of mine bought DELL). So, u must take into consideration of all this.

RE: Laptop Recommendation
wow I check it and the outcome is like that:
http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/defaul...gen&~ck=cr

I considering getting it in overseas (actually, like you said, I should do so) but the problem is I not familiar with the place I arriving at, and I am also not familiar with their language. (although english can be used, then ignore this reason) I think of getting my own Personal Desktop over there, and this laptop will definitely be the backup or mobile part. I plan to buy all the component myself there and fix it into a normal CPU, then get a monitor or whatever.

Regard to the "License", I already consider that. The package I order come with a Genuine Vista. For those office thingy, I will consider install my "pirated" version into it. I don't think they seriously check my application installed on the laptop I bring into the country.

Again, thanks for your advise.

dun worry, you only need license for you OS, just in case they do check, i went to aussie beginning of this year and they never bother to check my laptop for license anyway.

Their main target is big companies, small fry like us, wanna sue us can get how much, some more wasting their lawyer time....Smile

not necessary, you can still use Linux free OS, not bad also and the good thing is it is not vunerable to virus like Vista and xp.....Smile

RE: Laptop Recommendation
I don't think Linux is not vulnerable to virus. Perhaps it is more invulnerable to who-want-to-attack-the-system. Got it huh?
