RE: Laptop Recommendation
Uncle researched a couple of notebooks lately and the ones that come to mind are Dell 1525,Studio 15 and XPS M1330. Acer 4930G and Compaq CQ45 series have Centrino 2 lagi around that RM3K range. G-love-01

RE: Laptop Recommendation
Dell XPS very stable. My brother in law is using it and he usually on it for more than 12 hours when he is working at home. I have to agree with Aircraft, if you have the money, go for better spec as u can't upgrade it (except RAM n Hardisk).

It really depends whether u want a basic for just normal usage (min. spec), gaming (gaming spec) or kau kau office work (stability). If u are travelling extensively, then perhaps a light weight laptop would be a better option.

But then all boils down to $$$. No $$$ no talk. Smile

RE: Laptop Recommendation
dell is cheap and good by its specs..

but i prefer hp because it has a better built...although it may be a little more pricey

you need to consider if you travel much...then size does matter

if you intend to surf on the go...battery life also need to be in consideration.

if you are using it for normal word documentation and surfing the web....then a simple laptop with built in intel graphic accelerator should be good enough

RE: Laptop Recommendation
Hmm, I just ordered a Dell XPS™ 1530 online with the price of MYR 3799.

Hope this laptop is good enough for me. Because I am taking this laptop with me abroad so that I afraid the after-service is no longer avaiable. Hope the system will be very stable.

I consider with Inspiron but later end up ordering this. Hope this will be a right choice, and thanks for fellow forumer suggestions.

I will vote for Dell. Been using Dell Latitude.....never disappoint.

Acer? aiyo...more than half of the keys on the keyboard have came off...and after sales-service sucks.

RE: Laptop Recommendation
i use HP compaq nc6220, i use it every weekday from 8.30am - 12 midnite (at least) ...non-stop. on weekends, it will be from 12 noon until 2-3am.

at one time, about 10 applications are in use and about 7-15 IE windows are opened. so far no memory problem or HDD problem. it comes with 3 year worldwide warranty... now oredi 2 yrs+ i use it.

i think this is a bit high-end model, but then again, im a high-end user and i don't need to pay for this laptop! G-cool-man-02

RE: Laptop Recommendation
remember to get Intel C2D for cooler laptop and longer battery time, AMD is hotter and shorter battery time. Intel can run 60% to 100% more battery time than AMD proc.

whatever laptop can get, tahan or not all depends on the user itself, always surf wrong porn site will get virus and system will be unstable, lembu user who always cinchai cinchai 1, throw here, throw there, even IBM laptop also can spoilt....Smile

Just make sure price are reasonable across the brand on same specs.

I'm using acer 2920 with T5750 proc, since may 2008, so far so good.......that saw in Bangkok have acer 2920 with T8100 & T8900 proc edi, Malaysia also not yet sampai, i thought we Malaysia are more update in terms of It product than Thailand..........chec
