RE: Klang Transportation - Discussion on Klang's transportion infrastructure
The last ride of taxi in Klang was 1996, I remeber. Any way of course in other country i taking taxi also, it was 5 years ago from TaiPei International Airport to Taipei city, that the 1st time i saw GPS device in a taxi!! The driver ask me where i'm going then press some button on the screen. The japan Taxi having better Gps device in the Taxi, you can even let him know the landline phone number , then gps will search the place. I mean computer is just 1 and 0, everyone can do it if you want to make this done. The g~ment need to study whatever they are doing, i think the data for our country is almost arranged, just need somebody to do the job. Taxi driver in their country need to be educated at least know how to press some button. That would be very impressive for tourist travelling in our place. As i know Singapore is implement GPS in Taxi now. when will Klang start?

RE: Klang Transportation - Discussion on Klang's transportion infrastructure
Back in 1993 i still remember i use to commute to work daily by bus. At that time i would say the bus were punctual and on some occasion i did miss the bus so no choice gotto wait for the next schedule. Fast forward 10 yrs later in 2003, the route for the bus to come and pickup passenger has changed and creates some inconvenienced as well so no choice some people still depend on the service but for me i'm no longer travelling to work by bus at that time. So the schedule of the bus timing has changed too and not punctual already. Sometimes too early or sometimes too late.

RE: Klang Transportation - Discussion on Klang's transportion infrastructure
I did tried to travel by taxi once before but the experience was not good. It took me about 30 - 45 minutes just to get a cab which run by meter. For me, no meter, no talk.
What is the best way to get a taxi in Klang?

There are plenty of taxi @ Klang KTM station and Klang Main Bus Station.
But i never try any one of them before.. Firstly I not sure how they charge as most of it doesn't have meter. Secondly, are those taxi drive sincere & trustable?

I wish klang will have LRT service Smile

Problems with these taxis is they simply charge.

For example quite some time ago it was already at night around 11pm+ and no choice as there was no bus to taman berkeley so i had to pay the taxi RM5 from klang bus station to my house.

Has anyone tried RapidKL service ex-Klang?
For SEPADU fare of RM 7, you can take RapidKL Express from Klang to KLSentral (and Klang Bus Stand KL). From there, with the same ticket, you can take LRT, RapidKL Bandaran Bus and other RapidKL services. You could also proceed to Kajang and Putrajaya. . The ticket is valid whole day. See RapidKL webpage http://www.rapidkl.com.my/ . Klang's largest operator Transnasional should consider upgrading its bus services in Klang-Shah Alam-Banting-PJ-Puchung region linking residential areas to hubs and rail stations.

RE: Klang Transportation - Discussion on Klang's transportion infrastructure
Klang Sentral Terminal to open

THE Klang Utara bus station has been scheduled for relocation to Jalan Meru by end of this month as part of the township’s development planning.

All bus and taxi operators would be operating from the new Klang Sentral Terminal, about 6km from the current terminal.

Klang Utara terminal as well as express bus and taxi terminals in Lorong Kepayang would be closed permenantly.

Sungai Pinang state assemblyman Teng Chang Khim said several pick-up points had been planned in Klang town for the convenience of passengers in the area.

He said Klang Sentral, as the new public transport centre in Klang Utara, would help to reduce traffic congestion in the royal town.

The public transport services located in the Klang town centre has caused serious congestion, acccording to Klang Municipal Council (MPK).

Teng said relocation of the bus terminal was necessary despite complaints from the traders at the present terminal who feared their businesses would be affected.

The Klang population was increasing fast and new planning and developments were needed to ensure the district continued to be a conducive living place, he said.

He added that the population in the town had increased to more than one million from 800,000 five years ago.

What do you think of this relocation? surely everyone would say it would be inconvenient cos it is further now.. and the business around the current location will be affected... on the other hand, by relocating, it would help ease up on the traffic around that area ... what are your thoughts?
