Klang to get another police district HQ
KLANG: There will be an additional police district headquarters here by the end of the year to cope with the population increase and rapid growth of this royal town.

The Klang police district will then be split into Klang Utara and Klang Selatan.

Klang OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Mat Yusop said Bukit Aman gave the green light to the proposal on March 3.

He said the proposal was in the process of being gazetted by the Home Ministry.

“We are expecting the new district headquarters to start operations by the end of this year,” he told reporters after announcing a community policing programme at the Bandar Botanic community police station here yesterday.

ACP Mohamad said the district initially had only five police stations, and eight new stations were set up in the past two years in preparation for the split.

The Sungai Kapar police station in Batu 8, Jalan Kapar, will house the temporary Klang Utara headquarters while the Klang Selatan headquarters will be at the current headquarters in Jalan Gedung Raja Abdullah.

Klang police would also apply for more personnel, ACP Mohamad said.

“We have some 900 personnel in the whole district and hope to double the number,” he added.

ACP Mohamad also said that the crime index in Klang last year increased by 1.41%, from 6,822 cases in 2007 to 6,918 in 2008.

RE: Klang to get another police district HQ
Hmm... sometime i feel that in some area (not all) the police department is like an "Legal Mafia Group" due to the corruption (again, not all). That's what i feel lah. Its just my feeling. Hope i wont be put in ISA for mentioning this. Its just what i feel ok. If i offended anyone, sorry.
