Good Samaritan Home
Profiles ;

Imagine your father comes home drunk every night. He takes it out on your mother. He is not interested in you or the family. All he looks forward to is his next fix. As a 3 year old, you are oblivious to what is going on, but it has been a whole day since you last had something to eat or drink. You are hungry and thirsty. You look around for your mother but she is nowhere to be found. What you don’t know is that after the last beating, your mother decided to walk out. She cannot take your father’s beatings any longer and she fears for her life.

Founded in January 1999 by Albert Ong and YM, a former pastor and his wife, Good Samaritan Home (GSH) cares for children such as these—who come from families where parents have abandoned them, or where a parent is unable to cope with divorce, or where the child has lost one or both parents. GSH today is home to 28 children, whose age range from 1—16 years old. The home seeks not only to provide for their physical and material needs, but also to minister to their emotional and psychological needs especially in the light of their broken family backgrounds.

RE: Good Samaritan Home
Thanks for the map. I think I've seen that place before.
I've got a friend stay nearby that place in Southern Park.

Is there anything I could help from this eSpace and the members here? Banners? Meetings? Social Work?

RE: Good Samaritan Home
Kimmy,

Is it possible to put a link of said G.S.H. website on the main page ?
Under the "Klang Bloggers" column ? I think what they need most is
awareness from the Klang community that said place exists.

And also how can I get my own blog listed there ? I have to advertise
Klang Community eSpace on my blog in return ? Tks.

RE: Good Samaritan Home
Do you have a logo of some sort? It would work better with pictures.
I've added your blog link to the list. Advertisement? Just maybe a link to create better awareness to our fellow Klang folks. Smile

RE: Good Samaritan Home
I've created a simple banner for it temporary. Hopefully this will bring better awareness to your goodwill.

In conjunction with the coming CNY, we, who are a little more fortunate, do take time and shared our blessings with the not so privilege 'little one' who are located near to us (in Klang). Drop by “Good Samaritan Home” when you’re free and spread some little cheers with the children whom I believe will go a long way for them. Thanks.
