RE: Computer Science Graduate
hi e2boy,
welcome to the forum. a comp science grad do not need to do programming-related job. there are so many things that you can do, business IT, IT sales, IT support, IT installation and set-up, IT development (may include partial programming), and even IT marketing. I am a computer/EE engineer by degree but i did programming work in my 1st job!! ![]() anyway, my small career advice. take 1-2 years, do something whether related or not with your diploma. along the way, u will know which job that u really want to grow to be your career. and u will know what are your strength and gaps for improvements. by building your knowledge and skills, u can even build your own business one day. wlmak, alexhang and even kimmy are the IT guys. im sure that if you PM them for IT career advice, they will help you. but for now, i will encourage you to prepare a good CV, start apply jobs in Jobstreet and JobsDB. best of luck!! |

RE: Computer Science Graduate
to me... i would say go for programming/software development or server/networking administration for the 1st few years, gain some technical knowledge, then in future if you want to change your job scope to technical sales, consultant, marketing will be an advantage if you good in technical.
I do not trust any IT sales people that have no in-deth technical knowledge |

RE: Computer Science Graduate
i think u can try out network admin or helpdesk support or database programming. it's all depending on what's ur best skills/knowledge in computing field. says if u like networking...go and enrol for external courses on part time basis. probably after 2 yrs, u wanna try out sales/marketing.....then u can go ahead. again, it is back to you...wat do u want the best from urself now and the next 2 yrs, 5 yrs and so on..
