[TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
Dear Klangites,
Discuss how we as citizens of Klang can help the ministry in making this a success. Quote:thestar.com.my Why I won't use FREE WIFI? My Blog | My TechNotes |

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
I always have this 'project' in my mind to turn the old Kota bridge into a fabulous tourist area.............something in the mould of Sydney's Opera House!!!

The old Kota Bridge is a good location. Must also make sure the Klang river are clean too. If not, it won't be a good sight.
How about the Tanjung Harapan? It is a nice place to make into a Golden Waterfront. Imagine stretching out several platforms to accommodate angling activities and also relaxing time at cafes set up there? The Laguna Park on the way to West port is a nice example. By the way, fishing and angling sports is a huge area to explore, if it is being done properly and ethically. Why I won't use FREE WIFI? My Blog | My TechNotes |

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
well, my suggest...
plant more trees and plants lol! it could be nice to see flowers and shady trees along major roads in this royal town! n keep the roadside area clean , put grasses then. just look at singapore's amaizing landscape, feels jealous lol bahaha....most of the trees along the roads in klang is not consistance, miserable and dirty as well. Let me remind about many pot holes and cracks which added the ugliness of the road condition in klang. If klang is really a royal town , the authorities should preserved the 'royal' title by taking very-very-very good attention regarding the cleanliness and the beauty of the town. [aqmalbaik] |

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
Kau tim the transportation in klang before promoting klang as a tourism spot laa...those guys talk alot only. if public transport in klang not efficient, who wanna come to klang? also, klang is the most dirty town in malaysia, it's better to have massive clean up to the town first before they want tourists to come to klang. lastly, goshhh....klang traffic is soooo bad that sometimes it takes more than an hour to reach from south klang to north klang and vice-versa, although it's a short distance. Tourist will run away instead of coming here.

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
I couldn't agree more with aqxbaik & yhtan28.....transportations, cleanliness, town planning and social safety in Klang is in a mess!!! Whenever I heard bad comments about Klang from ppl of other places it really hurts....although I am not born here, Klang is still my HOME!!! And the worst thing is there is nothing we can do about it! With this new gov and new line up in MPK hopefully things can improve.
The Klang river is actually a Plus point; but if not taken care properly it is now a big MINUS eye sore. Look at some of best cities in the world that has a river running thru. Klang can learn to not only beautify but made them tourists attractions as well. KL, Ipoh & Melaka are some of the local examples while Singapore, Nice & London can be looked upon as foreign examples. |

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
After the completion of the latest bridge, the local govt should spend some time and money to do up the riverside area. I remember many years ago the govt had improved the area once but I think further efford is needed. Also keep clean and plant more trees. Simple tidy greenery looks better than fancy lamp post and fance street deco.

RE: [TheStar] Promoting Klang to tourists
Agree with more trees. I think Klang lacks greenery. But then again, Tourism say promotes Klang, but yet we have not donw any changes to improve the attractiveness of Klang except for being seafood or bah kut teh.
My recommendation, the counsel should have a 10 years plan and project where Klang should be heading. In regardless who or which party is heading the states, the plan will stay. Not like our education plan lar... say changes Maths to english, now want to revert. I can only see this as a money making gimmick. Klang is near to the river, I think cleaning up the river should be the NO.1 PRIORITY. Than we have have boating in Klang river. Sound cool. And u can travel up stream or down stream via the river. |
